Day 1: Blood of the Martyrs

Begin by thanking God for the faith planted through martyrdom.

Opening Prayer

Pray this same prayer each day after the day's meditation.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

O God, who by the preaching and blood of Thy sainted martyrs, Isaac and John and their companions, didst consecrate the first fruits of the Faith in the vast regions of North America, graciously grant that by their intercession, the flourishing harvest of Christians may everywhere and always be increased. Through Our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.

O God, who didst inflame the hearts of Thy sainted martyrs with an admirable zeal for the salvation of souls, grant us what we now implore.

Pause here for your intention.

Holy Martyrs and patrons, protect this land which you have blessed by the shedding of your blood. Renew in these days our Catholic faith. Pray for our homes, our schools, our missions, for vocations, for the conversion of sinners, the return of those who have wandered from the fold, and the perseverance of all the faithful. Amen.
