St Gregory Nazianzen

Gregory Nazianzen stands among the great doctors of the Greek Church, at once theologian, poet, friend, pastor, and defender of the Trinity. What makes him so memorable is the tension running through his life. He longed for retirement, prayer, and the quiet of contemplation, yet again and again he was drawn into public struggle for the sake of the faith.
