Your information
Privacy Policy
Novena Regina is built to help you pray without turning your devotional life into an advertising profile. This policy explains what information the site uses and the choices you have.
Effective and last updated: September 4, 2026
Who operates this site
Novena Regina operates novenaregina.com and the installable Novena Regina web app. Questions and privacy requests may be sent to hello@novenaregina.com.
Information you choose to provide
- Account information: your name and email address when you create an account, plus hashed sign-in codes, session records, and account favorites.
- Email subscriptions:your email address, subscription status, confirmation and cancellation records, the novena selected, and its start date when you request novena reminders. If you separately join Novena Regina Letters & Updates, the site also stores that choice, where the signup was offered, the consent version, and campaign delivery records needed to honor it. Earlier records may retain the separate update choices offered before September 3, 2026 so those permissions can continue to be honored.
- Push reminders: a browser-generated push endpoint and security keys, your time zone and reminder time, the type of reminder selected, and related novena progress needed to send the reminder you requested. The browser or operating system that provides push delivery also processes the notification subscription.
- Submissions and messages: prayer, novena, sermon, source, public witness, feedback, and correction information you submit; source links; and an optional reply email. Published submissions may be visible to the public after review.
- Donations: Stripe collects and processes payment and billing information on its own checkout pages. Novena Regina does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
Please do not send private prayer intentions, confession details, health records, financial account information, or other highly sensitive personal information through a submission, feedback box, or email to Novena Regina.
Book giveaway entries
When you enter a Novena Regina giveaway, we store your name, email address, state, entry time, agreement to the rules and eligibility requirements, and any separate choice to receive email updates. Entries are private and accessible only to authorized administrators through our Cloudflare-hosted website.
Entering does not add you to a marketing audience. New email signups require a separate confirmation; existing email choices remain unchanged. We use giveaway details to administer the drawing and contact the selected winner. Only a selected winner is asked privately for a shipping address, which may be shared with the providers delivering the prize.
For the September 2026 giveaway, nonselected entry records are deleted by January 15, 2027. Drawing and selected-entrant records are retained until September 15, 2027. Any separate records legally needed for fulfillment or accounting follow the applicable retention requirements. Confirmed email subscriptions follow your separate email preferences.
Short-lived, keyed hashes of connection information limit repeated attempts. They expire within two hours and are cleared during entry processing or the next daily maintenance run. The giveaway entry table does not store raw IP addresses. Hosting providers may separately process request and security data as explained below.
Read the Official Rules for the prize, closing date, selection process, and limited winner-list disclosure. Contact hello@novenaregina.com for privacy requests.
Information used automatically
- Basic request and security data: Cloudflare and the site may process an IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and security signals to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and diagnose failures.
- Unsuccessful searches: when a library search returns no result, the search words, page, browser description, and a shortened one-way hash of the IP address may be stored so the library can be improved and repeated automated requests can be limited.
- Device storage: favorites, prayer progress, a private confession preparation note, install-prompt choices, and similar preferences may be stored in your browser. When you save a prayer, litany, saint, or novena, a random device token may be sent with that save so the site can show anonymous aggregate popularity signals without counting the same device twice. The confession note stays on that device and is not sent to Novena Regina. Clearing site data in your browser removes these local records.
- Account progress sync: when you are signed in, the novena day and completion state may be saved to your account so you can continue on another device. Your private intention is not included in that sync.
- Daily saint email measurements: when a daily-saint invitation or signup form is seen or used, the site adds one to an aggregate daily count for that placement and step. The measurement table stores only the day, placement, step, and total count. It does not store an email address, IP address, device identifier, prayer choice, or individual page history. A temporary browser-session marker helps avoid counting the same invitation repeatedly in one tab.
- Planner and book measurements: using the Rosary calendar download, checklist print button, or an Amazon book link adds to a daily total for that action and its placement. The counter stores only the day, action, and count. It does not store your planning dates, intentions, email, IP address, device identifier, or individual history. The measurement request sends no account cookie or referring page. A short-lived connection hash held in server memory limits repeated requests. Aggregate subscription totals are calculated separately from existing confirmation records and are not linked to these clicks.
- Necessary cookies: a secure session cookie is used when you sign in. It keeps an account session for up to 30 days. The administrative area uses a separate 24-hour cookie. These cookies are necessary for sign-in and are not used for advertising.
How information is used
Novena Regina uses information only as reasonably needed to:
- provide accounts, favorites, reminders, requested emails, and downloads;
- send Letters & Updates, which may include the monthly Letter, seasonal notes, and direct support requests, only when you separately join and confirm the list;
- review submissions and respond to questions, corrections, or support requests;
- maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the library;
- prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access; and
- comply with applicable law and protect the rights and safety of users and others.
Novena Regina does not sell personal information. It does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising, and it does not use devotional choices to build an advertising profile.
Service providers and other disclosures
Information is disclosed only as needed for the following purposes:
- Cloudflare provides hosting, database, content delivery, image delivery, network security, and related infrastructure.
- Resend processes recipient addresses, message content, and delivery information to send requested account codes, guides, reminders, and email updates.
- Stripe processes donations and recurring donation instructions on Stripe-hosted checkout pages.
- Browser and operating-system push services process push subscriptions and deliver notifications when you enable them.
Information may also be disclosed when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or in connection with a transfer of the site or its operations. Novena Regina does not permit service providers to use information received from the site for Novena Regina advertising.
Email and notification choices
Novena reminders, Saint of the Day emails, and optional update emails use email confirmation. A prayer reminder signup does not place you on the Letters & Updates list. That optional list may include the monthly Letter, seasonal notes, and direct support requests. Earlier separate category choices remain in effect for people who joined before the list was combined. Every campaign includes links to manage the subscription or unsubscribe from all optional updates.
You may cancel reminder emails from the link included in those emails. You may disable push notifications in the Reminders page or in your browser or device settings. You may also email hello@novenaregina.com for help with any subscription.
Retention and deletion
Account and submission records are kept while the account or submission remains active and as needed to operate the library. Active email and push subscriptions are kept while the requested service remains enabled. Cancellation and delivery records, security records, backups, and records needed for legal or fraud-prevention purposes may be kept for a reasonable period afterward. Expired sign-in records and routine operational records are removed or de-identified when they are no longer needed.
Device-only information remains until you remove it through the site, clear the browser's site data, or uninstall the web app.
Your privacy choices and requests
You may ask to access, correct, obtain, or delete personal information connected with you, or object to or limit certain uses where applicable. Send the request from the email address connected with the information to hello@novenaregina.com. Novena Regina may need to verify your identity before completing a request and may retain information when permitted or required by law. You will not be discriminated against for making a privacy request.
Because the site does not sell personal information or use it for cross-site targeted advertising, there is no sale or advertising opt-out required for those activities.
Tracking and Do Not Track signals
Novena Regina does not currently use advertising cookies, third-party behavioral analytics, or technology that tracks visitors across unrelated websites. Because the site does not perform that cross-site tracking, a browser Do Not Track signal does not change how the site operates. Other parties do not collect personal information on Novena Regina for their own cross-site advertising through embedded trackers.
The email campaign dashboard records whether the email provider accepted or rejected a message. Novena Regina does not currently add tracking pixels or individualized click tracking to Letters & Updates.
Children's privacy
The library may be read by people of any age, but accounts, email subscriptions, reminders, donations, and content-submission features are not directed to children under 13. A child under 13 should not provide personal information through the site. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information, contact hello@novenaregina.com so it can be removed.
Security and international use
Novena Regina uses reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, hashed account and subscription tokens, and limited service-provider access. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
The site is operated from the United States, and information may be processed in the United States or other places where service providers operate. Privacy laws in those places may differ from the laws where you live.
Changes to this policy
Material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. When a change materially affects an active email or account service, an additional notice may be provided through the site or by email when appropriate.
