Principal Prayer for Each Day

Pray this same prayer each day after the day's meditation.

Watch, O Lord, with those who cannot sleep or weep tonight. Tend Your sick ones. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous ones. Amen.

O Lord our God, we bless your holy name for your servant Augustine, first Archbishop of Canterbury, whose labors in propagating your Church among the English people we commemorate today. We pray that all whom you call and send may do your will, bide your time, and see your glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Holy Father, You have given us in St. Augustine of Canterbury a great witness of Christian faith. Grant through his intercession a renewed Christian unity among people of all Christian communities.

Pause here for your need.

Lord, may it be done according to Thy Will, not mine. Amen.
