The selection of St. Hugh of Lincoln for this reading is a 2026 application. This complete general form replaces the former proper or thematic text; it does not supply that edition's missing readings, hymn or litany. Calendar verification: Hugh the bishop of Lincoln, Roman Martyrology 1916 pp.354-355. The November 17 entry identifies the bishop called from a Carthusian monastery to govern Lincoln. Let us pray.
Preserve us, O Lord, we beseech thee, from all dangers of body and soul: and by the intercession of glorious and blessed Mary, the ever Virgin Mother of God, of the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul, of blessed Hugh of Lincoln and of all thy Saints, grant us, in thy mercy, health and peace; that all adversities and errors being removed, thy Church may serve thee with a pure and undisturbed devotion. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
