Principal Prayer for Each Day

Pray this same prayer each day after the day's meditation.

God, for the Christian education of the poor and the strengthening of the new generations in the way of truth, You raised up the holy Confessor, St. Kevin, who was baptised, taught, and buried by saints, and through him gathered together many souls in Your Church. Grant, we pray You, that, helped by his prayers and example, we may burn with zeal for Your glory in the salvation of souls and become worthy to share his crown in heaven. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Our Father, Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Saint Kevin, pray for us. Saint Kevin, pray for us. Saint Kevin, pray for us.

Saint Kevin, you were privileged to live in the Age of Saints, O Father Kevin, being baptized by one saint, taught by another, and buried by a third. We celebrate your saintly and holy life. You lived a life filled with a wonderful reverence and awe of all living things. Let us imitate the respect and appreciation you showed toward life in all its forms, and help us to see the presence of God in all His creations. Pray to God that He will raise up saints in our day to help, support, and guide us into the way of salvation. Amen.
