Principal Prayer for Each Day
Pray this same prayer each day after the day's meditation.
O glorious St. Mark, through the grace of God our Father, thou didst become a great Evangelist, preaching the Good News of Christ.
Mayest thou help us to know Him well so that we may faithfully live our lives as followers of Christ.
Obtain for me, I pray thee, lively faith, firm hope, and burning love; patience in adversity, humility in prosperity, recollection in prayer, purity of heart, a right intention in all my works, diligence in fulfilling the duties of my state of life, constancy in my resolutions, resignation to the will of God, and perseverance in the grace of God even unto death.
By thy intercession and thy glorious merits I entrust to thee this special favor I now ask...
Pause here for the grace you are asking.
I ask this through Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with God the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God forever and ever. Amen.
Collect Prayer
O God, who raised up Saint Mark, your Evangelist, and endowed him with the grace to preach the Gospel, grant, we pray, that we may so profit from his teaching as to follow faithfully in the footsteps of Christ.
Who livest and reignest with Thee in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Prayer to Jesus
Thou art our Saviour, our hope and our life.
Thank Thee for watching over us as we learn and play.
Thank Thee for our patron, Saint Mark, and for the Gospel he gave to the Church.
Lead us always closer to Thee. Amen.
Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
Saint Mark, pray for us.
In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
