Traditional Catholic Morning Prayers
Begin the day by thanking God, offering Him your prayers, work, and sufferings, and asking for help to serve Him faithfully. This short selection brings three prayers from Father Lasance’s With God (1911) together for everyday use.
When to use it: At the beginning of the day, before work, school, or household duties.
A short beginning
If you need a short beginning, pray the Morning Offering slowly. You can add the other prayers as your routine allows.
The suggested arrangement and explanations are by Novena Regina. The historical prayer texts are kept separate and have their sources shown below. No account or payment is needed.
Give thanks for the new day
Recall that life, faith, and the day ahead are gifts from God. Begin with the Act of Adoration and Thanksgiving printed on page 137 of With God (1911).
Act of Adoration and Thanksgiving
Almighty and eternal God, I adore Thee, and I thank Thee for all the benefits which Thou, in Thy infinite goodness and mercy, hast conferred upon me. I thank Thee especially for having preserved and protected me this night.

Offer the day to God
Bring your duties, difficulties, and intentions into the Morning Offering. The older text below includes prayer for the Church and the holy souls.
Morning Offering
Almighty and eternal God, I offer Thee all my prayers, works, and sufferings in union with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, for the intentions for which He pleads and offers Himself in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, in thanksgiving for Thy favors, in reparation for my offenses, and in humble supplication for my temporal and eternal welfare, for the wants of our holy Mother the Church, for the conversion of sinners, and for the relief of the poor souls in purgatory.
I have the intention to gain all the indulgences attached to the prayers I shall say, and to the good works I shall perform this day. I resolve to gain all the indulgences I can in favor of the souls in purgatory.

Ask for guidance and protection
Ask your guardian angel to light, guard, rule, and guide you as you begin the day.
Prayer to the Guardian Angel
Angel of God, my guardian dear, to whom His love commits me here, ever this day be at my side, to light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen.

Questions about this guide
Do I have to pray the whole selection?
No. This is a suggested routine for personal devotion, not a required order of prayer. Begin with a prayer you can say attentively and add others if helpful.
Which Morning Offering is included?
The form printed on pages 138-139 of With God (1911), beginning “Almighty and eternal God.” Other traditional forms use different wording.
What can I pray later in the day?
The Angelus traditionally marks the morning, noon, and evening. During Eastertide, the Regina Caeli takes its place. Grace before and after meals provides another simple moment of daily prayer.
Sources and prayer texts
These prayers come from the sources named beside each text. The guide’s arrangement is an editorial selection, not a claim that the whole sequence appears as one service in the original book.
