Why pray the chaplet?
The chaplet asks for more than deliverance from danger. Its nine salutations ask for charity, conversion, humility, self-command, protection, obedience, perseverance, and a happy entrance into heaven.

Sources and arrangement
The chaplet follows The Raccolta (1910), no. 291, pages 261-263. Common prayers follow With God (1911), and Scripture selections use the Douay-Rheims Bible. New meditations and imagined everyday examples are distinguished from the historical prayers. This private devotional compilation carries no ecclesiastical imprimatur.
