Nine salutations for Saint Michael and the choirs of angels
You may begin with the Sign of the Cross. V. O God, come to my assistance. R. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
After each salutation, pray one Our Father and three Hail Marys. After completing the ninth group, pray four more Our Fathers in honor of Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, Saint Raphael, and your guardian angel.
- SeraphimAt the intercession of St Michael and the heavenly choir of the Seraphim, may it please God to make us worthy to receive into our hearts the fire of his perfect charity. Amen.

Our Father
Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil. Amen.
Hail Mary
Hail, Mary, full of grace; the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.
After the four concluding Our Fathers
Michael, glorious Prince, chief and champion of the heavenly host, guardian of the souls of men, conqueror of the rebel angels, who art set over the palace of God, our worthy captain under Jesus Christ, endowed with superhuman excellence and virtue; vouchsafe to free us from every evil, who with full confidence have recourse to thee; and by thy powerful protection enable us to make progress every day in the faithful service of our God.

Let us pray
Almighty and eternal God, who in thy own marvellous goodness and pity didst, for the common salvation of man, choose the glorious Archangel Michael to be the Prince of thy Church; make us worthy, we pray Thee, to be delivered by his beneficent protection from all our enemies, that at the hour of our death no one of them may approach to harm us, and that by the same Archangel Michael we may be introduced into the presence of thy high and heavenly Majesty. Through the merits of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
How to prepare
Prepare for Saint Michael's feast
September 29 celebrates the Dedication of Saint Michael the Archangel, recalling a church dedicated in his honor in Rome. It is a day to honor Saint Michael and ask his intercession for the Church and those we love.
You can prepare with nine days of prayer, from September 20 through September 28. The chaplet and prayers may also be prayed at any time of year.
- September 20-28: pray the nine-day novena, finishing on the eve of the feast.
- During your preparation: pray the Chaplet of Saint Michael, asking for charity, humility, protection from temptation, and perseverance in faith.
- September 29, the feast day: pray in thanksgiving and ask Saint Michael to intercede for your family and the Church.
