The chaplet

Nine salutations for Saint Michael and the choirs of angels

Begin with the Sign of the Cross, then pray: O God, come to my assistance. O Lord, make haste to help me. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost.

After each salutation, pray one Our Father and three Hail Marys. After the ninth salutation, pray four Our Fathers in honor of Saint Michael, Saint Gabriel, Saint Raphael, and the Guardian Angel.

  2. CherubimBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Cherubim, may the Lord grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin and run in the paths of Christian perfection. Amen.
  3. ThronesBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Thrones, may the Lord infuse into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility. Amen.
  4. DominionsBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Dominions, may the Lord give us grace to govern our senses and overcome any unruly passions. Amen.
  5. VirtuesBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Virtues, may the Lord preserve us from evil and falling into temptation. Amen.
  6. PowersBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Powers, may the Lord protect our souls against the snares and temptations of the devil. Amen.
  7. PrincipalitiesBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Principalities, may God fill our souls with a true spirit of obedience. Amen.
  8. ArchangelsBy the intercession of Saint Michael and the celestial Choir of Archangels, may the Lord give us perseverance in faith and in all good works in order that we may attain the glory of Heaven. Amen.

How to prepare

A clear path for September 29

The feast gives Novena Regina a natural way to help people pray first, then offer a careful companion resource only when it is truly ready.

  1. Pray the Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel.
  2. Begin the nine-day novena on September 20 to finish on September 28.
  3. Pray the Chaplet of Saint Michael on the feast or during the preparation days.
  4. Use the longer St. Michael Lent tracker if you are already following the August 15 through September 29 devotion.
  5. Keep any penitential practice voluntary and prudent. The prayer tracker is not a rule of fasting.

Source posture

Strong enough to pray, cautious enough to publish cleanly

The chaplet guide follows the commonly printed English order of the devotion. The Prayer to Saint Michael is separately sourced in a 1911 Benziger prayer book. Historical indulgences and private promises are not presented as current grants.

Before we sell a fuller printed edition or product bundle, the next step is a tighter older-source pass for the chaplet text and a fulfillment check for the physical item.
